What This Routine Means
All items in a single order are produced together on one sheet of material in one production batch. This is called One Sheet — One Batch.
The consequence of this is that if any item in an order needs to change, the entire order must be paused — you cannot change one item while the rest continue in production.
When This Rule Applies
This rule applies whenever:
- A customer wants to change the material on one or more items in an existing order
- Prepress identifies an issue with one item that requires the customer to send a new file
- An item needs to be reproduced due to a reclaim while other items in the same order are still in production
What to Do
- Pause the entire order in SignAdmin immediately — do not allow partial production to continue
- Use the Redo function via Edit-CX only — do not use other editing paths
- Notify the customer that the full order has been paused and explain why
- Once the issue is resolved, resume the full order
What Not to Do
- Do not allow production to continue on part of the order while one item is being corrected
- Do not use any editing function other than Edit-CX for redo actions
- Do not promise the customer that only the affected item will be delayed — the full order timeline is affected
Why This Exists
Producing items from the same order on different sheets or in different batches causes inconsistencies in colour, material finish, and engraving depth. One Sheet — One Batch ensures quality consistency across the full order.
