What this article covers
How the Image Review works, what it means for the customer, and how CX and Prepress handle image-related issues — both for customers who have paid for the service and for all other orders.
What Image Review Service is
Image Review is a paid service available at checkout, primarily for transactional customers. It allows customers who upload their own image to a sign to request a quality check before production. The service strengthens customer trust and reduces uncertainty before purchase.
The service is visible in the additional services block at checkout, alongside Prioritized Manufacturing.
How CX already works with images
CX already helps customers who contact us with images and files — this continues as before. Providing this type of hands-on support is central to the customer experience we want to offer.
Similarly, Prepress continues to review and fix images as part of their standard work. The Image Review is a formalised, paid version of this for customers who want the assurance at checkout.
How the order flow works
- All orders pass through the RTM filter automatically.
- Orders with low-resolution images are automatically paused by the filter.
- Prepress reviews flagged orders once per day and determines whether they can be approved for print.
- If the image can be fixed quickly, Prepress fixes it and approves the order — the customer does not need to be contacted.
- If the image quality is too poor to fix, Prepress contacts CX, and CX reaches out to the customer to request a better image.
- Orders where the customer has paid for Image Review are flagged with a note in the system so they are identifiable and trackable.
What changes when a customer has paid for Image Review
- The order still goes through the RTM filter as normal and gets paused, even if the image is okay.
- A note is added to the order indicating that the customer has paid for Image Review.
- Prepress reviews the image and fixes it if needed.
