What it is

Brass signs are one of Signmax's premium metal sign materials. They are designed mainly for indoor professional environments and give a high-end metallic finish. Brass signs give a premium, professional appearance well suited to office and hospitality environments. The material is only available as fixed standard plates — size, shape, and thickness cannot be customised. Text, layout, and printed design can be fully customised. While brass tolerates a wide temperature range, it is recommended for indoor use rather than long-term outdoor installations.

Available finishes

Nickel-plated, chrome-plated, shiny, matt, brushed nickel-plated, and black/oxide.

Customizable alternative

If the customer wants a customised brass-look sign — for example a different size or shape — a good alternative is our anodised aluminium in gold, which is laser etched. This cannot be colour printed, but it gives a similar premium metallic appearance and is a great option when brass's fixed-size limitation is a problem.

Common use cases

  • Office signage — premium metallic finish suited to professional indoor environments.
  • Reception signs — gives a high-end first impression for company name signs and logo displays.
  • Door signs and name plates — durable and elegant for offices, hotels, and meeting rooms.
  • Room numbers — commonly used in hotels and office buildings where a premium look is wanted.
  • Information signs — suitable for indoor signage where appearance and durability both matter.

Sustainability

Brass is sourced from Italy with a CO2e of 5.77 kg per kg. Because brass signs vary significantly in thickness and size, CO2e cannot currently be provided accurately per m² — only per kg. Brass signs are durable long-term products, which can reduce replacement frequency over time.
