What it is
Wood signs are one of Signmax's decorative sign materials. They are made from MDF with a real wood veneer in birch or oak, designed for premium indoor environments. The natural wood finish creates a warm and professional appearance suited to offices, hotels, restaurants, and interior branding. Wood signs are for indoor use only.
When to recommend it
Good fit when the customer needs:

Not a good fit when the customer needs:
- Outdoor signage → recommend Aluminium, Solid PET, or Acrylic

Wood signs are lightweight and visually distinctive. The real wood veneer gives each sign a natural finish with slight variations in grain and colour — this is normal and part of the material's character. Because the base is MDF, the material is sensitive to moisture and humidity and must not be used outdoors or in wet environments.

Wood signs support multiple mounting options as standard:

Custom options
Most wood sign requests can be handled through the standard assortment. Custom requests may include:
- Non-standard sizes — sizes outside the standard range may be possible. Manual pricing and confirmation are needed before quoting.
- Custom mounting solutions — mainly for larger interior installations. Production verification is needed before quoting.
- Engraving on wood — this is a special option outside the normal production flow. The order value must be at least SEK 5,000 for this to be considered. Due to the natural variation in the wood veneer, the engraving result may vary slightly between signs — some areas may appear slightly lighter or darker. This is a natural characteristic of the material, not a production defect. Always communicate this to the customer before ordering, especially for larger orders where consistency between signs is important.
Always confirm custom options with production before quoting. Never estimate prices for custom requests without checking first.

- Office and door signs — clean and professional with a natural finish. Works well for nameplates, room signs, and wayfinding in corporate environments.
- Reception signs — the wood veneer gives a warm, premium first impression. Popular for company name signs and logo displays.
- Hotel and restaurant signage — the natural aesthetic fits well in hospitality environments where warmth and quality matter.
- Interior branding — suitable for decorative wall signs, brand installations, and interior design projects where a natural material is preferred.
- Decorative displays — lightweight and visually distinctive for retail interiors, showrooms, and exhibition environments.
Sustainability
Wood signs are made from FSC Mix certified MDF sourced from the Netherlands. CO2e is 0.98 kg per m² — one of the lowest footprints in the Signmax range. The natural wood veneer is untreated and free from toxic additives. Long indoor lifespan supports a low total environmental impact over time.
