What it is
Decals, sometimes also called stickers, are one of Signmax's printed adhesive sign materials. They are flexible, full-colour graphics designed for application on smooth surfaces such as glass, walls, doors, vehicles, equipment, and floors. Decals work both indoors and outdoors depending on the type. There are three variants — standard, floor, and transparent — each suited to different surfaces and environments.
Note that when a customer asks for stickers, they may mean a more budget-friendly option without laminate — always clarify the intended use and surface before quoting.
When to recommend it
Good fit when the customer needs:
- Branding or graphics on smooth surfaces
- Window, wall, or vehicle graphics
- Floor graphics or retail campaigns
- Long-term outdoor adhesive signage
- Promotional or campaign graphics
Not a good fit when the customer needs:
- Rigid signage → recommend Aluminium, Acrylic, or Solid PET
- Cut out decals in one colour → recommend Vinyl
- Premium hard signage → recommend Acrylic or Aluminium
When to recommend each type
- Standard decals — general branding, indoor and outdoor graphics on smooth surfaces.
- Floor decals — floor graphics and walking surfaces. Includes anti-slip laminate. Designed for foot traffic.
- Transparent decals — window and glass applications where a transparent background is needed. Made with 80% recycled polyester.
If the intended surface or environment is unclear, ask the customer before quoting.

Decals are flexible and designed for application on smooth surfaces. All decals include a UV laminate that protects the print against sun, rain, and general outdoor exposure, making them highly durable. Floor decals include an anti-slip laminate and are designed to withstand foot traffic. Transparent decals are optimised for glass and have a transparent background that makes the print appear to float on the surface.
Custom options
Most decal requests can be handled through the standard assortment. Custom requests may include:
- Decals on sheet — decals can be produced on sheet when needed. The standard sheet size is A4, with multiple decals fitted per sheet depending on the size of each decal. This is a good option for high-volume decal orders. Confirm with production before quoting.
- High-tack decals — for rough or textured surfaces, difficult applications, or long-term outdoor use where stronger adhesion is needed. Minimum order value is SEK 5,000. Confirm with production before quoting.
- Multicolour vinyl — for customers who want cut-out vinyl graphics in multiple colours. Confirm with production before quoting.
- Decals without laminate — a more budget-friendly option for indoor use only. Can be offered when the customer wants a simpler sticker-style product without the durability of a laminated decal. Confirm with production before quoting.

Common use cases
- Window graphics — transparent decals give a clean glass-applied look for storefronts, office windows, and glass partitions.
- Wall and door graphics — standard or high-tack decals work well for branded wall graphics, door signs, and interior decoration.
- Vehicle graphics — standard or high-tack decals suitable for car, van, and equipment branding. Outdoor lifespan of 7–10 years.
- Floor advertising — floor decals with anti-slip laminate for retail campaigns, wayfinding, and promotional floor graphics.
- Product and equipment labels — durable adhesive graphics for labelling products, machinery, and equipment indoors and outdoors.
- Retail and campaign graphics — flexible and cost-effective for short to medium-term promotional campaigns across multiple surfaces.
Sustainability
CO2e varies by decal type:
- Transparent decals — 0.89 kg CO2e per m². Made with 80% recycled polyester from the UK. Lowest footprint in the decal range.
- Standard decals — 1.72 kg CO2e per m². Produced in Germany.
- Floor decals — 1.83 kg CO2e per m². Produced in USA and Germany.
All decals are designed for long-term durability with an outdoor lifespan of 7–10 years and unlimited indoor lifespan under normal conditions.
